Melanie's first musical memories are of singing with her dad, himself a well-known local musican, at the tender age of 5. She took up guitar as a form of escapism from the madness of motherhood and domestic "bliss". At first, her practice sessions ensured that everyone left the building and gave her some desperately-needed peace! Sadly nowadays she's finding an opposite reaction: "I'll have to come up with another plan" she sighs!
