". . . is like a whirlwind, or like the water from a millwheel cascading down with all the power of a natural force - not trained or restrained - but tumbling and falling and filling the pools around with freshness and movement. She is volitile, unpredictable, anxious, loyal, and above all, an extaordinarily talented musician.
She has been singing, playing guitar, whistles and flutes almost all her life. She began singing when she was 4, choosing the resonant qualities of the stairwell for her performances and at 13 began teaching herself accompanyment on her first guitar.
Watching Nikki prepare to play, she is nervous as she fumbles with the picks and adjusts the tuning. Then suddenly, she is launched, and like a diver, her aim and skill is sure."† Her treatment of such classics as Blackwater Side and the blues number Blue Eyes are so riveting you come to at the finish to realise you have been holding your breath.
Nikki can outdo even Joni Mitchell at her own songs and as for songwriting, Purbeck Hills and Lunar in the Alleyway are just two of her beautiful original pieces now well known to local music lovers.
Here's a sample of her Music.
